In 1999 Marietta G. Martin, CPA established April CPA's, PC and purchased a Grand Junction public accountant's business. Over the next 10 years April CPA's has built a solid reputation in the community for providing quality, ethical accounting and bookkeeping services to business and individual clients throughout the Grand Valley and beyond.

April CPA's, PC tailors services to meet the specific needs of each client, from monthly, quarterly, or annual accounting services at reasonable, competitive fees to appropriate payroll and income tax reporting and preparation.

April CPA's employs a team based approach to handling your accounting. With Marietta G. Martin CPA as principal accountant and advisor, the support team provides services to clients based on their areas of expertise and the need of the client. In order to service all client accounts in a timely and efficient manner, our tax professionals participate in continuing education and training to enable all of our staff to assist our clients with their accounting needs.

Marietta G. Martin, CPA

Marietta G. Martin graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 1982 from Metropolitan State College in Denver with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. After several years as a Tax and Accounting Manager for a small accounting firm, she went into practice for herself. She has owned two accounting practices in Denver and, after moving to Grand Junction in July 1999, she purchased an accounting practice from a local public accountant.

Marietta G. Martin holds a Certified Public Accounting certificate from the State of Colorado. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Marietta G. Martin has extensive experience in tax services, accounting, and financial consulting, including trust and business planning, business evaluation, and management services. Her experience includes a broad range of industries emphasizing in real estate, restaurants, professional services (physicians, attorneys, etc.), construction, retailers, manufacturing, wholesale distributors, trucking companies, farming, and equestrian activities.

Her interests are her family, reading, gardening, computers, and her business.

Megan Levine

Megan joined the firm in July of 2009. She completed her Bachelor's degree in accounting in 2008 and continues to increase her skills in all aspects of public accounting including payroll and sales tax reporting, financial statement preparation, and annual tax return preparation for both businesses and individuals.

Her background includes over 20 years of retail management and training that gives her a strong knowledge of the ins and outs of retail business. Her patience and background in training allow her to effectively work with clients to help them with their accounting. She is also a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor with experience in QuickBooks software versions from 2005 to present. She enjoys training others to manage their personal or business accounting needs.

Megan has lived in the Grand Junction area for 13 years with her husband and their many varieties of pets. She enjoys traveling to interesting parts of the country and visiting with family. Her other hobbies include singing in the Grand Mesa Chorus Sweet Adelines, where she has also held various leadership positions. She also enjoys bird watching and has been known to drive well out of her way while following a black dot circling above in the sky.

Ellora Stanton

Ellora has been with the firm since 2002. Her specialties include working with small to medium sized businesses, assisting them with their accounting and preparing their compiled financial statements, payroll and sales tax reports as well as preparing of their annual federal and state income tax returns.

Her expertise and patience in training others has earned her a place in training new staff members at April CPA's, PC as well as our clients. As a Certified QuickBooks Pro advisor, she sets up, maintains and trains others in QuickBooks usage.

Her combined love of travel and photography takes her out of the office and into all sorts of interesting locales, bringing back stories and pictures of great experiences. Put her in a camper or on a cruise ship; she'll be happy!

Bookkeeping and Administrative Staff

Cheri Stephen

Cheri Stephen has been part of the firm since October 2008. Always learning and eager to undertake new tasks, she is efficient and handles issues and workload with ease and patience. In addition to administrative duties to aid the accounting staff, Cheri also performs many of the "in-house" accounting/bookkeepng services for our clients - invoicing, payroll processing, etc.

Cheri's favorite role is planning and directing company social events enhancing the enjoyable work atmosphere here at April CPA's, PC.

Cheri is the mother of two very active boys who are as strong-willed as she is. As the wife of an active-duty military man, she finds joy and strength in her faith, her family and her friends. She enjoys "getting away from it all" through hiking, camping, music and finding ways to express her creativity.
